VeloNews names new Publisher, Editor and Advertising Director
Boulder, Colorado – Inside Communications announced today the appointments of a new Publisher, Editor and Advertising Sales Director for its flagship publication, VeloNews. Andy Pemberton has been promoted from Interactive Brand Director to Publisher. Ben Delaney has been promoted from Managing Editor to Editor. And Kevin Burnette has been promoted from Senior Account Executive to Advertising Director.
As Publisher of VeloNews, Pemberton is leading the largest and most successful competitive cycling magazine. He will be responsible for business development, sales and marketing for the entire VeloNews franchise including the magazine and Web site.
A long-time endurance athlete and bicycle racer, Pemberton joined the parent company, Inside Communications, in 2005, serving as the Interactive Director responsible for all of the Company’s Web sites. During his tenure he tripled the Company’s Internet revenues. Prior to joining Inside Communications, Pemberton held the positions of President and Publisher of Wilton magazine, a high-end city/regional magazine in Connecticut, and Vice President and Publisher of EContent magazine. He has worked in magazine publishing for over 12 years and has held positions as Group Vice President, Director of Sales and Marketing, Advertising Director and Advertising Sales Manager.
As Editor, Delaney will lead the editorial team for the VeloNews brand, including the magazine, specials and Web site. He will be responsible for the development of all VeloNews content including originating, organizing and coordinating all editorial as well as overseeing the design and layout of the magazine and Web site. Before joining VeloNews in 2005, Delaney spent five years working for Bicycle Retailer and Industry News where he was the Editor at Large and Web Editor. He was also the Outdoor Columnist for The Santa Fe New Mexican and a freelance editor and writer. Delaney, a former Cat. I road racer, holds a B.A in Journalism from the University of New Mexico.
As Advertising Director, Kevin Burnette heads up the successful and growing advertising department at VeloNews, which set lineage and revenue records in 2006. Burnette has been a leader in account management and advertising business development at VeloNews since he joined the Company in 2005 as an Advertising Account Executive. Prior to joining the brand Burnette was an accomplished Inside Sales Rep for American Bicycle Group. Burnette is an experienced endurance athlete and holds a B.A. in Economics from the University of Texas.
